How to introduce yourself to modeling agencies

It is very important to know how to behave when you show up at a modeling agency for the first time.To give a very good first impression to a modeling agency, we recommend the following tips:

 

Be Punctual. Neither is arrive one hour ahead, with five minutes will suffice. If you arrive late for your interview will give a very bad first impression and what will happen is that the agency will not trust you to go to be on time when you send the customer, so you might miss a good opportunity.

Turn Solo/a. Unless you are a minor, you must go only to the appointment. If you are younger, then you must be accompanied by the father or mother, best if not both. Do not go with friends so family members for an interview at an agency as they may think that it will always be like this and that would be fatal in front of the customer.

Introduce yourself with a good book. A photo book is your cover letter, your resume, so you need to be perfect and contain only very good photos.

Try to look like photographs. If you sent pictures to the agency, try not to look very different to them. The photos you send in advance to the agency must be current and must have the same look that you currently have. This means that you should not of changing your color or haircut, and who hope that the person is in the photo, not another which looks totally different.

Be yourself / a. Do not try to pretend what you are not. In your book you must have photographs showing the type of model you want to be. If you measure just 1.60 meters, your photos should not be just fashion. If you do not want to work as a lingerie model, you should not have this kind of photos in your book.

Accepts criticism. Need to model high self-esteem and learn to accept criticism. Never argue with an agency or you get defensive. When you give feedback, any suggestions or advice just listen, thank them and leave. If you realize that several agencies will make the same comment, then maybe you should listen to them and try to change whatever the problem.

Turn to good agencies. When you contact for an interview or ask before you ask for an appointment to visit a modeling agency, you have to investigate the agency. Remember that a serious agency should never ask for money up front. You should verify that the agency has really good customers and getting their models work. Also find out if the agency specializes in what you want to work. For example, if you are a plus size model, petite or child, you should ask before the agency not to waste time.
