The main
function of a modeling agency is to
establish business relationships with customers who require the services of the
agency models, and outsourcing these services by paying the model a percentage
of the price paid by the customer.
Access
the "job" that offer modeling agencies, is as simple as presenting
the book and a composite (preferably also attached a resume, if you have
experience). The agency then will consider the profile of the model for those
customers that demand similar profiles. To this end, modeling agencies model
casting usually organize the search for new talent, but much better if the
composite model is already in the files of the agency.
Good
agencies always work this way, in which the agency gain is directly related to
the amount of work to be able to bring their models. In this ideal way, is the
agency that cares to get better the more work.
However,
there are other agencies that provide services such as school class of models
and other services, to which the model should pay close attention, as they are
paid services in which they must pay a periodic fee for inclusion in the "job
vacancies" of the agency. This mode is only recommended when dealing with
reputable agencies that really are capable of working in return for that fee.
Unfortunately, there are many agencies that offer these alleged payment
services but actually do not acquire a real commitment to working with the
model.
Some
agencies provide photographic services models (pictures of models) for the
realization of a book. Many times the agency agreed with the model carrying
this book free in exchange for not charging anything for the first works that
the model performed at the agency. Other times, the implementation of a payment
book is just one more service.
Depending
on the interest which gives rise to an agency model, it can offer an exclusive
contract, under which the model agrees not to work for other agencies and never
work alone. These contracts should be reported to model special advantages
enough to find it has signed exclusivity. This decision must be taken with
care, and without consulting other agencies and weigh alternatives.
