Mallory Hagan of New York becomes Miss USA 2013


LAS VEGAS, United States, Jan. 12, 2013. - Mallory Hagan, Miss New York 2012, became Miss USA 2013 and achieved a pass to the Miss Universe pageant, in a ceremony at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Beauties from across the U.S. will compete tonight to become the new Miss America 2013, which carries a $ 50,000 scholarship and a one-year reign in defense of charitable causes.

The winner made numerous trips, talk to people all over the country and raise money for Children's Miracle Network, the official charity of the event.

 The competition at the Planet Hollywood hotel and casino in Las Vegas marks the culmination of a week of individual competitions and months of preparations for the beauty queens from 50 states, plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Each charm has already shown in state competitions.
The participants have remained at Planet Hollywood, but the ringing of the slot machines and flashing marquees were not for them but a blurred background, amid a busy schedule of rehearsals, press meetings and interviews with judges.

Among the winners of preliminary stages are the representatives of Maryland and Oklahoma. Miss Alabama and won a scholarship of $ 6,000 for their commitment to community service.
After a musical number that will mark the beginning of the show on Saturday, it will announce the 16 finalists. The driving is performed by Brooke Burke-Charvet, the program "Dancing with the Stars" and Chris Harrison of "The Bachelor".


The finalists will participate in competitions in swimsuit, evening gown, talent and interview.
Organizers have added a twist inspired by the singing program "American Idol," where viewers can get deleted again a participant in the competition to express their support online and via mobile phone messaging.

Scores preliminary talent competition and represent 30% of the evaluation of a contestant. The other 20% is defined phases in swimsuit and evening gown.

The five finalists will answer a question from the panel of seven judges.

At the end of the evening, the reigning Miss America, Laura Kaepeler of Wisconsin and 24 years, will deliver his Crown. Kaeppeler, whose father was in prison for mail fraud, has been a year of participating in criminal defense of the children of prisoners.
